These Particular portraits of women by Frenchman Edouard Dantan's (1848-1897) seem to be quite sculptural. His grandfather was Joseph-Antoine-Laurent Dantan, a wood carver; His uncle, Jean-Pierre Dantan, was a clay & amp; bronze sculptor: & amp; His father, Antoine-Laurent Dantan, was a sculptor of marble. Edouard chose to paint, but his favorite subject was painting artists at work in vaulting sculpture studio.  His career was cut short, when one of the horses attached to his carriage bolted, throwing Dantan to his death; before he Reached the age of 50.
